Flashback reader Frank Monks came across this blast from the past while trawling through some old photographs.
The 78-year-old, from Clayton-le-Woods, stumbled across a black and white photo of a bunch of Chorley youngsters posing with their go-karts in the 1960s.

Mr Monks said two of the faces in the line-up of scuffed knees and cheeky smiles were particularly familiar.

He said: "Two of the boys in the picture are my sons, Nigel, who has just turned 50, and Phillip, who is now 48.

"They were both members of Chorley Healey Cub Group and had just been in a soapbox derby."

Some of the boys can be seen sporting medals which Mr Monks thinks were awarded to the fastest teams.

He said: "The other team you can see in the picture is the Euxton Lane cub group and as I remember all the boys built the carts without any help."

All the boys pictured lived in the Bankside area of Clayton-le-Woods.
