Fleetwood was left in darkness after a power cut this morning.
Residents and businesses in the town centre were struggling without electricity after the failure - caused by a break-in at a sub-station.

The power went off before 8am but United Utilities said they were hoping to restore the service by midafternoon.

Around 590 properties in the Lord Street area were affected after the incident in which copper conductors were stolen. Police are investigating.

A United Utilities spokesman said: "Our engineers are on site working to make sure the service is restored and we hope the supply will be back by mid-afternoon."
