A MAN has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a girlfriend.
William Dunne, 50 of Walter Robinson Court, Layton, was bailed to October 21 for trial by Blackpool magistrates.

Sat nav gets stolen

A THIEF helped himself to a sat nav when he found an unlocked car in Thornton.

The TomTom model, worth £200, went missing on Saturday night from a Mercedes on Stork Close.

Blood donor times A BLOOD donor session will take place on Monday at Cleveleys United Reformed Church, Rossall Road, Cleveleys.

It will be held between 2pm and 4pm and 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

Patio privacy plans

HOUSEHOLDERS will be able to relax on raised patios after planning approval was given.

But the owners of a pair of semi-detached homes on Montpelier Avenue, Bispham, must install glazed screens to protect the privacy of their neighbours.

Blackpool's development control committee heard that many properties in the neighbourhood had raised patios because their rear gardens are at a lower level than the houses.
