Nanny charged with manslaughter

A nanny who was accused of murdering the 13-month-old baby son of two police officers has had the charge she faces reduced to manslaughter.
Isaac Rowlinson, the son of detective Paul Rowlinson and Pc Lisa Rowlinson, died on 23 July in Penwortham, near Preston, Lancashire.

Linda Wise, 46, of Gaerwen, Anglesey, was charged with murder in December.

A hearing at Liverpool Crown Court was told the Crown had decided to reduce the charge from murder to manslaughter.

No plea has been entered by Mrs Wise.

A trial is expected to take place at Liverpool Crown Court in June.
