Urgent calls have been made for a notorious beggar to be banned from a Chorley car park.
A growing number of complaints have been made, with shoppers feeling threatened by the man, who is described as being in his early 20s and unshaven.

They have reported him to Chorley Council for begging on the Flat Iron car park and he has also be
en seen approaching people at the interchange.

Officers are now investigating the situation and said they were looking to take "appropriate action".

Christine Hodkinson contacted the Guardian after being targeted by the vagrant on a recent trip to the town centre.

She said: "He approached me on the Flat Iron and asked if I had any change.

"I presumed that he was asking for it for the parking meter but then he said he needed it to pay for a bus home to Preston.

"I only had a £2 coin that I was using to pay for my parking so I told him that I didn't have anything.

"He then asked again and said he only needed £1.

"I ended up giving him some lose change as I felt really uncomfortable and because I was on my own I felt a little scared."

Christine said she watched the beggar, who is also described as having dark skin, dark hair and wearing a hoody, approach at least another two people.
