When Charlie the cat lost most of its fur, his owners were baffled about the cause - until the worried moggie was diagnosed with stress!
Concerned animal lover Amanda Howard, from Chorley, didn't know what to think when all the fur started falling off her pet's legs and tummy.
In desperation she took Charlie to the Hillcrest Animal Hospital in Chorley - where vets said the cause was his stressful life.
His 39-year-old owner was told he was showing signs of compulsive behaviour, which meant Charlie was constantly licking himself causing his fur to fall out.
She said: "It started at Christmas and went on for months. I thought it was a flea at first and that he had a bad reaction, but when I took him to the vets I was told that it was due to stress."
An information evening on feline behaviour where you can find out more about alternative grooming products will be held at Hillcrest Animal Hospital on Tuesday, October 7 from 7.30pm.
