A Chorley teen is crying foul after council officials claimed his dog messed up at a beauty spot.
Dwayne Swift, of Oakwood View, says an enviornmental officer followed him home before giving him a £50 fixed penalty notice for a crime he says his dog Candy did not commit.

The 18-year-old art student was told his 13-year-old collie had defecated in Birkacre Woods near Eaves Green. But the teenager says they've got the wrong dog and is demanding an apology - or he will take his case to court.

He said: "There is absolutely no way I am going to pay a fine for something I didn't do. I'm upset and annoyed because I am very careful to clean up after my dog. The officer was very pushy. He has absolutely no proof."

Council neighbourhoods corporate director Ishbel Murray said: "We will not comment on an individual case. Neighbourhood officers enforce against anti-social and environmentally criminal behaviour. They act fairly and will do whatever they need to, within legal parameters, to fine people who don't clean up the mess."
