A campaign has been launched to make roads around Adlington and Anderton safer.
Residents met councillors and county highways officers to point out their concerns with parking, the speed of traffic, road maintenance and lack of traffic calming.
Councillors Cath Hoyle, June Molyneaux and Peter Wilson are liaising with highways bosses.
Coun Hoyle said: "We are trying to ensure that Lancashire County Council acts now to address these problems.
"We visited many parts of the village including Babylon Lane, Railway Road, Park Road, Bolton Road and Rothwell Road to name just a few.
"I believe that having officers from Lancashire County Council actually visit the area will help us make progress as they can see for themselves the problems that local residents experience every day.
"We now have to continue lobbying for improvements to our local highways in order to promote our local environment and quality of life."
In January last year, residents celebrated a victory when 20mph speed limits were introduced on 16 roads in Adlington.
Residents were glad about speed humps and restrictions on Acresfield, Balmoral, Bond's Lane, Carrington Road, Castle Drive, Castle House Lane, Chapel Street, and Crawford Avenue.
Crook Street, Grafton Street and Lewis Close as well as Old School Lane, Sandringham Close, Sandy Lane, Stonor Road and Windsor Avenue were also included in the scheme at the time.
It is not yet clear what kind of road safety improvements will be made in the coming months.
A county spokesman said: "Sketch schemes are now being drawn up for each location.
"This will allow for the effectiveness of the ideas to be fully considered, along with any access problems that might be created.
"Before any scheme is implemented, there will be the opportunity for the public to give their views and make their feelings known."
