A pub is hoping to capitalise on the classic combination of a pie and a pint.

The Bay Horse at Heath Charnock will be relaunching as a ‘pie pub’, serving various pies by supplier Pieminister.

Meredith Peterson manages the pub with partner Tony Heath.

She said: “We live in a county of pies so we’re hoping the pie and the pint will really take off here.

“It’s the best quality and everything is hand-crafted, organic and British.

“We’ll have various pies that will change regularly from the steak and kidney ‘PM’ to the steak and chorizo ‘Matador’.”

An official launch will take place on Saturday, February 11.

Meredith said: “This pub has been run by the family for 10 years. The interior will stay much the same with open fires. We want to keep it cosy with good quality drinks and good quality food.

“It’s all about keeping the locals happy, and keeping the people who come in happy too.”

The pub will also serve a ‘not a pie day today menu’.

Meredith said: “We will have a menu for non-pie-eaters, because we know some pie lovers are in love with people that don’t love pies.”
