Boys playing in a Chorley football tournament were rewarded for their good manners on the pitch.
The team from St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School were presented with a trophy for winning the ‘Fair Play Award’ during the tournament, which was held at Holy Cross Catholic High School.
Teacher and coach Nick Roden said: “We were very proud of them for winning the award, which they got for treating the referee and opposing teams with respect, and shaking hands after the game.
“We do encourage good behaviour like that at the school, at playtime as well as during lessons.”
He credits new coach Sean Maloney for helping to bring the positive attitudes out of the lads.
