Leyland’s St Ambrose Players are busy rehearsing for their next big production, The Road to Nab End.

The amateur dramatics society is preparing to perform Philip Goulding’s new play, which is based on William Woodruff’s best-selling memoir about his life in the early part of the 20th century, growing up in Blackburn.

The play runs from August 14 until August 18, at St Ambrose Church Hall, Leyland.

The group is also starting to think about the festive season this month, and is holding auditions for the Christmas pantomime – with a twist!

Sherlock Holmes: The Panto-Crime is a new play, but written in a very traditional format.

New members both on and off stage are welcome, and the pre-audition is on August 23 at 7.30pm in St Ambrose Church Hall, with the auditions to follow on August 28, at the same time and place.

More information about both productions can be found at www.stambroseplayers.co.uk
