Fire crews are also on standby in case the blaze reignites.
The Post Office on High Street as well as estate agents Bridgfords remain closed.
The fire started at around 3.58am this morning (Thursday) and flats above the restaurant were evacuated while crews battled the flames.
It was extinguished by 8.30am.
