A Chorley barmaid is still looking for love after appearing on ITV’s popular Saturday evening show Take Me Out.
Aimee-Jayne Cavanagh, 29, was chosen by Adam, from Bristol, and the pair headed for the Isle of Fernando on their date.
But sadly for Aimee-Jayne, Adam did not turn out to be her Mr Right.
Van driver and officer worker Aimee-Jayne, who lives in Blackburn, works part-time at the Top Lock, Heapey.
Viewers to the show – hosted by Bolton comedian Paddy McGuinness – at the weekend, were shown how Aimee-Jayne and Adam got on together.
“He was really nice, we got on as friends.
“I had a fab time with him,” revealed Aimee-Jayne.
However, there will be no relationship between them.
The dating game show features 30 single women, and a single man, whose aim is to secure a date with one of the women who stand on stage, using lights to show whether they are interested or not.
If a date is clinched the pair are whisked away to the Isle of Fernando’s.
The show’s catchphrases include “No likey, no lighty!”, “If you’re turned off, turn off” and “If he’s not Mr Right, turn off your light”,
The filming took place in November.
And although Aimee-Jayne, who only applied to go on the show “for a bit of a laugh”, described the whole experience as “an absolute blast”, she has no plans to do anything like it again.
“No, it’s put me off and it’s so time consuming,” she said.
She said: “Doing the show was absolutely draining. It was full on.
“It was like a massive hair, make up, wardrobe, get up and do it again.”
And she added: “I don’t like people having an opinion of me – I don’t like people being mean to me.”
Down at the Top Lock, next to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal on Copthurst Lane, they’re not letting their barmaid forget about her moment of TV stardom.
She said: “There are a few people make a few comments, saying they saw me on television. I said, stop watching it, I can’t take it any more.”
Meanwhile, she will meet up again with friends from the show at a reunion party sh
