POLICE are appealing for information after a pedestrian was knocked down and killed in Coppull this morning.

At around 10:45am, police received a call to say a local man in his 40’s had been hit by an HGV on New Road in Coppull.

The road was closed for just under three hours for accident investigation to take place.

A police helicopter was seen circling around the scene after the incident.

Sergeant Sean Cunningham from the Road Policing Unit said, “We are trying to establish the circumstances around exactly what happened and would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around the time and may have witnessed anything to come forward.”
