Arley Homes’ Duxbury Manor development has been acknowledged by the National House Building Council with a Pride in the Job Quality Award. John Pickering, site manager at Duxbury Manor in Chorley, has been recognised for overseeing a build of the very highest standards.
Now in its 32nd year, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job Quality Award is given to a site manager for carrying out an exceptional level of work on their development.
John is one of around 400 winners nationally out of 13,000 eligible site managers who were assessed by the NHBC, and has been invited by organisers to attend the North West regional awards luncheon in October.
The NHBC describes the award as: “the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive”.
It represents success for the site manager, his team and associated trades as well as providing a reputational boost for the building company.
Most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home benefit from a high quality product.”
Speaking about the award, John said: “I’m thrilled the fantastic work of everyone on the Duxbury site has been recognised in this way.
“This really is a team achievement, having worked closely with a dedicated team of designers and builders who have all gone the extra mile to make Duxbury Manor an exceptional development.
“It’s hugely rewarding to be recognised by the NHBC and our industry peers and I’m really looking forward to seeing the Duxbury Manor site develop and flourish in the coming months with new construction phases starting.”
Each nominated site manager undergoes spot checks and individual assessments which include their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place.
Only site managers who demonstrate exceptional standards in every aspect of their work are rewarded with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.
John Cosgrave, managing director of Arley Homes, said: “I’m delighted that John, and in turn the whole team, have been recognised for their hard work and commitment to delivering the highest levels of workmanship on the Duxbury site.
“Duxbury is proving to be one of Arley’s most popular developments and this is testament to work of people like John who put 100 per cent into everything they do.”
Arley Homes is no stranger to the NHBC Pride in the Job award.
In 2009 and 2010 site managers at Arley’s Churchfields development in Harwood and Chanters Green site in Atherton were also recognised with the Quality Award.
