A car, designer bags, watches and jewellery worth thousands of pounds were stolen from a house in Mawdesley.
Police are appealing for information after the raid at the property on Bradshaw Lane, which they believe was deliberately targeted.
A rear ground-floor window was forced open and the alarm system disabled, before the burglars searched the house.
No-one was home at the time.
They stole a 4x4 vehicle, designer handbags and a safe containing jewellery worth thousands of pounds.
Among the haul was a Gucci ladies’ watch, 18ct white gold diamond earrings, 18ct yellow gold diamond emerald bangle, an Alexander McQueen burgundy handbag and Louis Vuitton carry-on luggage with wheels.
The burglars were disturbed by neighbours and drove away in a black Range Rover Sport Autobiography, stolen from the garage.
The incident happened at around 1.15am on Thursday, June 26.
DS Steve Monk, from South CID, said: “I believe that the offenders were in the area for at least an hour and have deliberately targeted this property.
“The victims are understandably devastated after these items stolen, particularly as they are of a sentimental value, notably two rings that belonged to relatives who have passed away.
“I am appealing to anyone, especially local residents who may have seen anything suspicious around the time leading up to the burglary to get in contact with any information they may have.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference number 0926 of June 26.
