A pair of experienced entrepreneurs are hoping to floor the opposition with their brand new carpet warehouse in Chorley.

Experienced carpet tradesman Paul Harwood is building on his 30-year career in the business to launch the Carpet Clearance Centre with help from his wife Shirley.

Based in Sandham Street, just off Steeley Lane, the purpose built warehouse has a wide range of carpets and vinyl products for the commercial and residential markets.

Paul, 46, used to help run the family business, Harwoods Carpets, until he left in 2005.

Paul said: “The fashion these days seems to be for neutral carpets from beiges through to browns and we have a wide range of prices to suit every budget.

“Vinyl floor is very popular these days as it can create a really effective finish that looks like ceramic tiles or laminate.”

Shirley said: “Paul has always had a passion for carpets so we bought the unit and we want to develop it.

“We just want to make this a big success.

“It’s a real family business and we hope our children may want to join us when they are older.”

Having been in the carpet business for so long, Paul can arrange experienced, time-served fitters to help customers receive a great service from beginning to end.
