A talented Chorley hairdresser has fulfilled her grandmother’s dying wish and launched her own salon.
Kelly Brindle, 31, had always been encouraged by her grandmother Olive Turner to open her own hairdressers.
And, after she died in October, Kelly decided to pursue her dream and has now launched KSO Hair Design in Gillibrand Walks.
The mother-of-two said: “I have been hairdressing for years and my grandma used to always encourage me to open my own salon.
“It was after she died that I decided to go for it and think she would be really, really proud.”
Kelly has created a vintage feel at the new salon and has a framed picture of her grandmother on her wedding day in the shop.
She added: “It makes me feel like she is a part of it by having her picture here and I’m really pleased with how the salon has all come together.
“My sister has a degree in design and she has helped me come up with the logo and the vintage theme. We have even got genuine 1940s hairdressing chairs and everyone who has been to see it loves it.”
Kelly is also hoping that her young daughter Shelby may follow in her footsteps and take over the shop when she’s older.
“I want the salon to provide a good future for my children,” Kelly added. “I specialise in putting hair up and my customers will be able to come to the salon and enjoy the experience.
“I have also got a competitive price list and like to listen to my clients an give them exactly what they want.”
