A Chorley chain of bakers is celebrating after landing a prestigious award.

The best of Lancashire’s businesses gathered for a glittering In Business Awards (BIBAs) awards ceremony last Friday night at Tower Ballroom, Blackpool.

Halls Baker walked away with the title of ‘Retailer of the Year’, seeing off competition from all over the county.

More than 1,000 of Lancashire’s most influential business people attended the event.

Halls, a third generation business established in Chorley since 1933, has been transformed in recent years into a dynamic retail operation which boasts three static retail sites in Chorley, five mobile shops serving central Lancashire and a corporate catering business.

Joe Hall, owner and grandson of the founder, was delighted. He said: “To win Retailer of the Year at the BIBAs is a wonderful achievement and testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire team at Halls. We’ve made great strides in the last few years and it’s great to be recognised for our efforts.”

Joe also hinted at further exciting new developments in the pipeline. “We have maintained many of the traditions of the firm, whilst constantly embracing change. We have some exciting plans for the future.”
