A Chorley businesswoman is celebrating being featured in top fashion magazine Vogue.

Gayle Hesketh, who owns furniture, jewellery and clothing shop Mulberry Moon, was so astonished when she got a phone call from researchers at the magazine that she had to call back and check it wasn’t a hoax.

The mum-of-two, from Eccleston, established her shop at Heskin Farmers Crafts Centre three years ago. Since then, business has boomed and she now ships to as far away as Japan.

Gayle, 43, said: “I couldn’t believe it when they called.

“They said they loved my products and they were doing a French feature for their September issue with Kate Moss on the front and they wanted to know more about the business so they could include it.”

And if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, ITV’s 60-minute-makeover team called the very same day to ask if she could supply some furniture they could use on the show.

Gayle said: “I started selling on Ebay eight years ago and took a bit of a break when I had children. Then three years ago I started the shop and things are now so busy I’m working seven days a week.”

Gayle ships her products all over the world, including Japan and Germany, and says she has seen a big increase in her online sales at www.mulberry-moon.com

She said: “12 months after setting up the company I started my online store.

“As sales began to increase I jumped at the chance of setting up a boutique in Heskin, and I later added a lingerie business.

“I really hope that with the national coverage I can boost both my online and store sales.

“It’s quite an achievement to be in Vogue.”
