Chorley Carnival may be over for this year, but there is still time to join the fun at Adlington and District Carnival.
This year’s event will be held from Friday, July 11, to Sunday, July 13, on Jubilee playing fields, on Park Road, Adlington.
The traditional parade will be held on the Saturday, following an alternative route due to the closure of the bridge on Railway Road for railway electrification work.
There will also be a world record attempt, as Lankykats rock and roll music collective aim to get more than 2,500 people playing acoustic instruments at the same time.
Musicians can join them to perform Status Quo’s Rockin’ All Over The World.
This year’s celebrity guests will be Emmerdale actors Natalie Robb (Moira Barton) and Anthony Quinlan (Pete Barton), who will meet fans and sign autographs from 3pm on the Sunday.
The weekend will have a host of attractions for people of all ages, including performances by the National Festival Circus, cheerleaders, Preston Pipe Band, and singers and bands.
There will also be a dog show, baby show, a funfair, stalls, a bar and many other familiar attractions.
