Have your say

After an absence of 19 years, the Chorley Carnival returns to town this weekend.

And the message to everyone is crystal clear – come on down and make the event an occasion to remember.

To put the event on has taken hundreds of hours in the planning over the past 11 months since committee chairman Karren McCarthy got talking to friends on Facebook and decided she wanted to re-create the ‘good old days’.

Karren and her committee members have since worked tirelessly to secure a packed programme of events, as well as a funfair, Chorley’s Got Talent competition and other entertainment.

The full story behind this year’s event and the complete three-day timetable appears inside.

And next week, your Chorley Guardian will bring you a souvenir Carnival edition, so all you need to do is get yourself down to the festivities and truly make it an event to remember.
