Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault at a pub in Chorley.

A 28-year-old man was punched in the face and fell to the ground in the smoking area at The Imperial, on Union Street, at around 1.30am on Saturday, August 9.

As he left the pub, he was punched again in the face by another man, who is believed to have been with the first man.

The second man is believed to have gone back into the pub.

The victim suffered a broken jaw, which required surgery.

The first man was described as white, approximately 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build. He had short light brown hair and was wearing an electric blue T-shirt.

The second man was described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall and of slim build. He had short dark brown hair and was wearing a white T-shirt, light blue jeans and had a full sleeve of tattoos on his left arm.

PC Lee Tickle of Chorley police, said: “This was an unprovoked attack which initially started in the smoking area and continued at the front of the pub around closing time.

“We are keen to speak to the man pictured and I would urge him or anyone who may recognise him to come forward.

“Similarly I would ask that anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information about what happened to contact us on 101.”
