Here is a summary of court cases involving at Chorley and Preston magistrates' courts.

Ross William Whittam, 32, of Meadow Way, Coppull, was fined £400 by Chorley magistrates for driving on the M65 without due care and attention on March 31. He was also orderd to pay £40 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. His licence was endorsed with seven points.

Robin John Moll, 36, The Laund, Leyland, admitted driving along the Kirkham Bypass at a speed exceeding the legal 50mph when he appeared at Chorley Magistrates’ Court. The offence happened on June 27. He was fined £80 and had to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. His driving record was endorsed with six points.

James Anthony Smith, 28, of Liptrott Road, Chorley, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months for possessing cannabis when he appeared at Chorley Magistrates’ Court. He was arrested on October 7. He also had to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

Craig Martin, 25, of Avondale Road, Chorley, was fined £260 by Chorley magistrates for driving on the roundabout at the junction of Lyons Lane and Brook Street without due care and attention on January 25. He also had to pay £26 victim surcharge and £200 court costs. His driving record was endorsed with five points.

Antony Stuart Parkinson, 31, The Farthings, Chorley, was fined £40 for using a mobile phone whilst driving on the M6 near Lancaster on April 1. Preston magistrates also ordered him to pay £20 victim surcharge and £40 court costs. His driving record was also endorsed with three points.

Gareth William Heaton, 48, of Fox Lane, Leyland was fined £60 for possessing amphetamine, a controlled drug of class B on October 22. Preston magistrates also ordered him to pay £30 victim surcharge.
