This week’s court round-up.

A speeding driver has been fined £265 and had six points added to his licence. William Ian Bell, 31, from St Helens Road, Whittle-le-Woods, pleaded guilty to driving faster than the 30mph limit in the A683 Caton Road, Lancaster. He was also made to pay a £27 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.

A 23-year-old admitted to driving without due care and attention in Preston. Joshua Dacres, from Cowling Brow, Chorley, was fined £35, and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. His driving record was also endorsed with three points.

A man has been fined £135 for driving faster than the 50mph speed limit on a motorway slip road. Stuart John Burrow, 41, from Whittle Hills Close, Whittle-le-Woods, admitted the charge, and also had three points added to his licence. He was handed a £20 victim surcharge fee, and must pay £85 in costs.

A man has been committed to prison for 60 days after admitting to entering the Theatre Hotel in Dole Lane, Chorley, with the intention to steal. Michael John Hesketh, aged 29-years-old, from Fishergate Hill, Preston, was locked up because of repeat offending. He was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £180.

A driver who broke the 30mph speed limit in Shepherds Way, Chorley, has been fined £170 and had six points added to his licence. George Andrew Garrett, from Chorley Road, Adlington, pleaded guilty. The 20-year-old must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £85.

A man has admitted to speeding in Runshaw Lane, Euxton. Kendal Carlyle Dixon, age 20, from Sunningdale Drive, Buckshaw Village, must pay a £200 fine, with a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He pleaded guilty, and had six points added to his licence.

A youth rehabilitation order has been made against a 16-year-old who broke into a Chorley house and stole a pressure washer. The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was also made to pay a victim surcharge of £15.

A 65-year-old has been fined £420 for driving too fast. Denis Martindale, from Regents Way, Euxton, exceeded the 30mph speed limit in Shepherds Way, Chorley. He confessed, and six points were added to his licence. He must also pay a victim surcharge of £42 and £85 in costs.

A Chorley driver has pleaded guilty to driving faster than a 30mph speed limit in Heysham. Paul O’Grady, 64, from Stump Lane, was fined £215, and made to pay a £22 victim surcharge and £85 costs. His driving licence was also endorsed with six points.
