A round-up of this week’s court listings.

A woman has pleaded guilty to stealing a tablet computer, a PlayStation 4 game, a pack of pies and a tub of Cadbury’s Heros, to the value of £75.17, from Asda in Chorley. Kate Calderbank, 37, from The Martindales, Clayton-le-Woods, was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and a criminal courts charge of £150, discharged conditionally for 12 months.

A man has been handed a jail sentence after admitting to a number of thefts from Chorley shops. Anthony Ainsworth, 50, from Hollinshead Street, Chorley, took £7 worth of chocolate bars from Poundland, five beef joints to the value of £32.75 and six gammon steaks costing £22.50 from Asda. He was prohibited from entering both stores from previous offences. He has been committed to prison for 32 weeks, suspended for 12 months. He must pay compensation of £62.25, as well as a victim surcharge of £80, costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a criminal courts charge of £180, totalling £407.25.

A woman who breached the 30mph speed limit in Spendmore Lane, Coppull, has been fined £30. Michelle Dunleavy, 40, from Longworth Avenue, Coppull, pleaded guilty, and had three points added to her licence. She must also pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £50.

A speeding driver has been fined £145 and had four points added to her licence. Lisa Marie Harrison, 37, from Fairview Drive, Adlington, admitted to the charge, which took place in Preston, and was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.

A Chorley driver has confessed to speeding on the roads in Bolton-le-Sands. Three points were added to the licence of 29-year-old James Pearson from Regent Road. He was also fined £145 and must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

A man who broke the 30mph speed limit in Clayton Green Road, Clayton-le-Woods, has been handed a £220 fine. The case of Andrew David Clowes, 44, from Aycliffe Drive, Buckshaw Village, was proved in his absence. Three points were added to his licence, and he must also pay a victim surcharge of £22 and court costs of £85.

A man has been fined £100 for driving faster than 40mph along the A49 Preston Road in Charnock Richard. Stannlaw Bronikowkski, 56, from Park Road, Chorley, pleaded guilty, and also saw three points added to his licence. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £85.

A woman has pleaded guilty to speeding. Clarissa Joy Hoyle, 33, from Sunningdale Drive, Buckshaw Village, has been fined £40 for driving faster than the 30mph speed limit on the A49 Wigan Road, Euxton. She must also pay a £20 victim surcharge, £85 in costs, and had three points added to her licence.
