Woodley Sports 2 Chorley 2

CHORLEY’S promotion bid suffered another blip after Garry Flitcroft’s side let a two-goal lead slip in the second half to drop two points against Woodley.

However, Woodley came out of the dressing room a different side as the visitors were not able to maintain their high tempo play.

In the first half, Chorley were quick out of the starting blocks after seven minutes when man of the match Tom Ince crossed the ball into the box and Payne volleyed home from eight yards.

The visitors did not have to wait long to double their lead when John Cunliffe flicked the ball on to Stepien to volley the ball home.

After the interval, Woodley hit back when Nathan Neequaye headed home at the far post.

Chorley tried to restore their two-goal advantage but Teague’s header was hooked over the bar.

With quarter of an hour to go, Neequaye netted the equaliser with his another header.

Fresh legs up front in the form of Matt Jansen, Mark Houghton and Adam Roscoe in the search for a winner, but it was Dale Witham who twice came closest to netting with a header and a long range effort.
