Colourful floral features around Chorley will take centre stage this week as judging is set to take place for the North West in Bloom competition.
The judges of the annual competition, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society, will look at wildflower meadows, special features and spectacular blooms and the meet the individuals, groups and organisations helping the town to bloom this summer.
The community-led Chorley in Bloom Group, supported by Chorley Council, has spent months preparing and is ‘looking forward to making Chorley the blooming centre of the North West’.
Iris Smith, group chairman, said: “We have had so many groups, businesses, organisations, and individuals involved this year, who have worked so hard to ensure that Chorley looks it’s best.
“They have been amazing as everyone can see with the spectacular displays we have this year.”
