Fundraisers aiming to collect £250,000 to send two-year-old Corey Ashcroft to America have almost reached the half-way mark.

Corey’s team have already collected £121,000 in just five weeks, and now need to double that to send poorly Corey for life-saving treatment in the USA.

This week, a fun day and auction was held at St Peter’s Parish Club, in Chorley.

Special guests included celebrity auctioneer, actor and comedian John Thomson; members of the police force; and a cake stall owner from Bretherton.

On July 29 there is a Tapas evening at the Stocks Tavern in Parbold, from 7.30pm; on July 30 is a Party of Entertainment at the Swan With Two Necks in Chorley, from 7pm; on August 1 there is a Keyboard Organ concert at the Midge Hall in Leyland, from 7.30pm; and on August 3, there’s live music at the Venue in Wigan, from 4pm until 10pm.
