Chorley will officially switch on its Christmas lights on Saturday, November 15.
The town centre is gearing up for a spectacular stage show on Market Street, featuring celebrity and local acts and entertainment before the big switch on.
Details of the stage line-up and the celebrity who will flick the big switch are still being finalised.
Deputy leader of Chorley Council, Coun Peter Wilson, said: “Our Christmas lights switch on has got better and better each year and we are working hard to make this year’s show the best one yet.
“We want to bring acts to Chorley that all the family can enjoy so we can get everyone in the Christmas spirit and kick start Chorley’s celebrations.
“There are lots of surprises planned and we will be making some changes to the Christmas lights this year, including new features.
“There are also plans for a magical Christmas attraction, entertainment every Saturday in the run up to Christmas, Chorley’s Christmas Express running between the town centre and Astley Hall and even more chances for the children to meet Father Christmas at Astley Hall.
“It’s all very exciting and we hope to see as many families as possible joining us on Saturday 15 November for a spectacular night of Christmas fun.”
The council is working with Rock FM, and the entertainment is expected to start around 4pm with the switch scheduled for 6.30pm.
