A grainy black and white wedding photograph could hold the key to an alleged theft in Lancashire.

Police are trying to trace the mystery couple, snapped on their special day, to re-unite them with family pictures stored on a USB stick recovered with other property from a house in Chorley.

The red and white Lexar USB contains music and photos and officers are concerned they are of great sentimental value to a family somewhere in the county.

“We believe it must have been stolen from a vehicle and we would love to be able to reunite the owner with their property,” said PC Richard Booth from the West Lancashire Target Team. “The photos on this memory stick will be of particular sentimental value to someone.

“If you recognise these photos and believe the memory stick could belong to you or someone you know, please get in contact with us.”

The USB stick was amongst items police believe could be from a series of thefts from vehicles in Chorley over the past six months. Officers say anyone with information, or can recognise the happy couple in the picture, should contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A man has been charged in connection with various theft offences. Paul Harding, 27, of The Farthings, Chorley will appear before the town’s magistrates on March 19.
