Popular films will return to the big screen this weekend when a drive-in cinema arrives in Chorley.

Movie lovers can get in their cars to watch films at Runshaw Adult College, on Euxton Lane, in a fund-raiser organised by Chorley Carnival’s committee.

It will show Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory at 6pm on Friday, followed by Dirty Dancing at 9pm.

On Saturday, Frozen will start at 6pm and The Rocky Horror Picture Show begins at 9pm.

Tickets for each film cost £10 per car and can be booked online at www.chorleycarnival.org.

The drive-in cinema is one of a series of events being held to raise money towards next year’s carnival, which is scheduled for June 5 to 7 at Astley Park.

It follows a bonfire and fireworks display held earlier this month, which attracted thousands of people.

Carnival organisers took a 30ft American-style drive-in movie screen to Botany Bay earlier this year, with packed audiences watching Grease, Mamma Mia, Monsters University and Despicable Me.
