Nearly three quarters of the A level grades awarded to Kirkham Grammar School pupils were at the top A*-C grades.
This means most students have secured places on their chosen university courses.
A dozen students achieved a clean sweep of A*/A passes in three or more subject.
Head of sixth form Adrian Long said: “These A Level results reflect well on our students’ efforts over their school career, and particularly during the sixth form years, when there is such
constant pressure from the many exam modules over two years. It is pleasing to see so many of our pupils now going on to their first choice universities, with places for medicine, veterinary science, economics, natural sciences among those secured at some of the country’s top universities.
He added: “With the national press reporting a downturn in the percentage of top grades awarded it is very good to see that our students have done so well across the board, and it is particularly pleasing that so many of the top grades have come in the most demanding subjects, notably maths and the sciences.
“We warmly congratulate all our students on their success and wish them the very best for the next step in their education.”
