Chorley fell silent at 11am on Monday - Remembrance Day - as people paid their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Wreaths and individual poppies were laid at the war memorial at Astley Park by veterans and schoolchildren alike.

The Royal British Legion and the Mayor of Chorley, Coun John Walker, led the tributes.
