Giant blue circles have started appearing all over Chorley.

The features, which have a circumference of around 1.5m, are dotted in places such as the town centre and Astley Park.

“It’s very intriguing.”

Chorley Mayor, Coun Marion Lowe, said: “I remember something similar happening a couple of years ago when giant teapots started turning up all over the place.

“People kept ringing the council and councillors asking us what they were for, and nobody knew why they were there!

“I think it’s something similar this time, and I’m sure people will be talking about them, trying to figure out what they’re for.

“It’s very intriguing.”

The Guardian will reveal all next week, and in the meantime, we’re asking readers to send in their selfies with the circles from various locations across Chorley.

If you see one, take a picture with it and send it to us on Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #chorleybluecircles.

We’d also like to hear your ideas about what you think the circles are all about.
