Young people in Adlington will have a new area to finely-tune their skate skills with the opening of a new skate park.
The new-look Jubilee Recreation Ground skate park is officially opened for people to use this weekend.
Coun Bev Murray, who has responsibility for parks and open spaces at Chorley Council said: “The new skate park looks fantastic and is a major improvement to facilities for young people in the area.
“It is something local people said they wanted to see and we are delighted it is now open for people to use.”
It is part of the first phase of improvements at the park, which has also seen ball courts resurfaced and rebound fencing installed.
The work on the skate park has taken around 12 weeks to complete and features quarterpipes, ledges, a jumpbox and a 180 degree rollover.
The second phase of the development will see the installation of new play equipment on the site and should be completed in the spring.
An opening event will take place on Saturday from 11am.
