Chorley residents will once again be doing their bit for Sport Relief 2014 by taking part in the Chorley Mile.
Taking place on Sunday, March 23, participants of all ages will be sponsored to run, walk, skip or hop their way round the stunning Astley Park for either one, three or six miles.
The Chorley Mile is being organised by Chorley Council and is part of the national Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile which takes place every two years.
Coun Bev Murray, who oversees sporting activities at Chorley Council, said: “The Chorley Mile is always extremely popular with residents.
“It has always raised a superb amount of money for Sport Relief.
“The event is also a great way to get the community working together, keeping fit and having fun all at the same time.
“All ages can get involved and the great thing is, you can choose a distance and pace that suits you.
“I hope that as many people sign up as possible and help us make this Chorley Mile the biggest one yet.”
Entry costs are £6 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family of four.
The event runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
The three and six miles distances set off at 10.30am and the one mile race starts at 11.30am.
