A business bash aimed solely at women is being launched this month.
The Enterprise Vision Awards (Eva’s) are run by Coral Horn and Rae Stephenson, who run a string of ladies networks in the North West.
It was launched last year, and due to its success is being repeated again for 2012.
To be shortlisted, women can either apply themselves or get nominated by somebody that feels they deserve recognition.
This year, there are going to be a variety of different categories, including Sole Trader and Business Woman of the Year.
Awards director Coral Horn said: “We were absolutely blown away last year by the sheer volume of entries these awards attracted, which just goes to show the enthusiasm that women have for business and wanting to promote female enterprise in the region.”
A panel of judges will select their finalists, who will then be invited to an interview.
The public will then vote for their favourites, and winners will be announced at a glamorous ceremony at Ribby Hall, Wrea Green, on September 14.
Rae Stephenson, co-director of Eva’s, said: “Once ladies are through to the finals, the voting plays a massively important part of the process.
“Finalist’s last year found the publicity through viral promotion such as social media platforms Twitter and Facebook to raise the awareness of their business, which enables them to extend their business profile to a wider audience.”
The official ambassador of Eva’s is entrepreneur Kirsty Henshaw, who is most well-known for her successful appearance on BBC’s Dragon’s Den.
Kirsty earned herself the support of Duncan Bannatyne and Peter Jones, after impressing them with a pitch on a frozen dessert brand, called Worthenshawe’s. She said: “I became involved in the Enterprise Vision Awards when it was launched in 2011.
“Coral Horn from Pink Link Ladies approached me with the concept and was looking for a local female entrepreneur with whom ladies could identify with.
“ I am delighted to be associated with the Eva’s awards as they are a fabulous celebration of the North West’s finest female talent and. in my role as Eva ambassador. I would encourage ladies to get involved.”
The awards have been sponsored by some major businesses from the area, including Shout Network, Southport Road Dental, Mad Science NW, Lancashire Wine School and Kitchener 2000 Ltd.
Chorley based dental surgery, Southport Road Dental, said: “We wanted to get involved with this year’s Eva awards to help support the truly incredible women in business in our region.
“Seeing just how infectious Eva fever was last year and how much happiness celebrating these women created, we had to be a part of it.”
