This week sees the return of the popular Rainbow Ramble, held to raise money for the Legacy Rainbow House children’s hospice in Mawdesley.
The sixth annual event is taking place on Saturday, and people can choose to walk or run a five, 11 or 18-mile route.
Anyone can join in and register for £15 for adults and £5 for under 18s.
Children under 13 must be with an adult and children in pushchairs and wheelchairs can enter for free.
The disabled children and their families also get involved raising sponsorship money.
Last year, the charity collected more than £30,000, and this year the Rainbow House is also helping local charities which don’t have the resources to organise their own event.
Organiser Sonia Harris said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to get other charitable causes together, and it’s fun to be out in the fresh air walking and raising money with family and friends.”
The Ramble starts and finishes at Bishop Rawstorne Academy in Highfield Road, Croston.
People can enter by visiting the Legacy Rainbow House on Salt Pit Lane in Mawdesley, calling 01704 823 276 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
