She also raised almost £400 and both the hair and money will go to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children with cancer or suffering from hair loss.

Proud mum, Lianne Streatfield, of Penwortham, said: “Around 18 months ago Eyvie saw a news article about a little girl raising money to get herself a wig, as she was undergoing treatment and could not afford it.

“She asked me why she needed a wig and I explained that she was poorly. She said she would grow her hair to help and she stuck to it.

“I am extremely proud of her. She can’t understand why people she doesn’t know are helping her raise money. She has raised nearly £400 and there is still money coming in. One business in Leyland, Barlow Trailers, donated £100, which is fantastic.

“It costs £350 to make one wig, plus the hair. I didn’t think Eyvie would raise that much, but she did. It is amazing.”

Eyvie, a pupil at Penwortham’s Cop Lane Primary School, said: “I wanted to help other children and thought it was a kind thing to do.

“I like my new hair and I have new clips.”
