A windy Easter Sunday proved to be the perfect conditions for duck races along the canal.
Chorley and Adlington carnival committees joined forces for the first time to hold a fundraising event at Jubilee playing fields in Adlington.
The special guest was Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant, who plays Jacob Gallagher in the ITV1 soap.
More than 100 people cheered on ducks in separate Chorley and Adlington races, as well as a corporate race.
They also had photographs taken with Joe-Warren, visited a fun fair and tried their luck in a tombola.
The event was a joint fundraiser for both carnivals and the money raised is still being counted.
Paul Martin, parade marshal director for Chorley Carnival, said: “It went really well. There was a good turnout from both Chorley and Adlington and everyone had a good time.
“The weather helped us. A bit of a breeze propelled the ducks along the canal.”
