More than 200 people relaxed in glorious sunshine as they enjoyed an outdoor performance of Peter Pan And The Lost Boys.

Astley Park was used as the venue for a show that saw the Walled Garden become a skate-park full of adventure.

Sunday’s performance ended in rapturous applause for the five-strong cast from Heartbreak Productions, who ended their UK summer tour in Chorley.

It also marked the end of Chorley Council’s summer events programme.

Coun Peter Wilson, deputy leader of the council, said: “We’ve had some fabulous entertainment over the summer months and the perfect weather made for a fantastic show that was enjoyed by both the children and adults who came along.

“The Walled Garden is the perfect venue for that type of performance and it’s part of our plans to build Astley Park into an attraction that will bring people from all over the region in to Chorley.

“Both our outdoor theatre shows have been really well attended so we’ll be looking to put on more shows next summer. If people who came and watched the shows have any feedback, we’d love to hear from you.”
