Parish councillors could soon have a greater say on issues affecting the borough.
There are plans to replace the Three Tier Forum with a new body, named Chorley Three Tier Liaison, and change the membership.
The existing forum consists of seven county councillors, seven borough councillors and just one parish councillor.
But following concerns from parish councils about their lack of representation, the new forum would include one councillor from each parish or town council in the borough.
There would also be an extra borough councillor on the forum to represent Chorley town centre.
The new group would be a consultative forum and meet four times each year at Chorley Town Hall.
Proposals to replace the forum will be discussed by Chorley Council’s executive cabinet at their meeting on Thursday, which starts at 6pm at Chorley Town Hall.
They will also be considered by the existing Three Tier Forum on April 8 and by Lancashire County Council on May 8.
