Chloe is 'our little miracle'

When premature baby Chloe Wilcock was born weighing less than 2lbs doctors didn't think she would survive.

Now she's just celebrated her second birthday and in an amazing transformation she's even helping her mother who is registered blind.

Proud and relieved mum Donna Exley, who is a volunteer teaching brail, has spoken for the first time about her daughter's amazing fight for life.

When Chloe was born 14 weeks prematurely, she was so tiny that she was able to fit in the palm of her dad Lee Wilcock's hand and she spent the first 12 weeks of her life in intensive care.

Speaking of her 'little miracle' Donna, who lives in Lakeland Gardens, Chorley, said: "When we first found out that I was expecting, Lee and I were so excited, but as early as the fifth week into the pregnancy the problems started."

Donna, 23, who has proved an inspiration herself after winning gold medals in European Championships for swimming and athletics, also has to deal with being registered blind but says help for her own problem came from an unexpected source.

Even though she's only two, Chloe has already picked up on her mum's severe visual impairment and helps out by picking up objects that her mum can't see.
