Chorley lottery winner won't give up day job
A Chorley dad who netted more than £2m on the lottery will not give up his day job as a bus driver - but he might go part time.
Kevin Halstead, 46, has been driving the 125 bus between Bolton and Preston for the past 17 years and says he doesn't want to let winning 2,302,668 in last week's Lottery draw get in the way of his career.
Instead the father-of-one says he will ask his bosses if he can go back part-time after a holiday with partner Josephine Jones, 43.
However, the couple, who have never been abroad, will have to wait a few weeks before they can go anywhere because they've had to order their first passports.
Modest Kevin said: "At work they told me to take as long as I need, so I'll be taking a month off - maybe two."
A number of years ago Kevin was hailed a lifesaver when he diverted his bus to Chorley hospital when one of his passengers collapsed with heart problems.
Approximately three months ago Kevin finalised his divorce from ex-wife Helen after 13 years.
Had the decree absolute been delayed, the busman could have been forced to hand over half of the jackpot to his ex.
But now he and partner Josie, who have been together for 11 years, can keep it all to themselves.
He says he will 'take care' of his 14-year-old daughter Jessica, from the marriage, and hasn't ruled out the possibility of treating his ex-wife.
