Chorley’s former sergeant returns to talk about books

A retired police detective is visiting two Chorley libraries to give talks about his book.

Roger Price worked for Lancashire Constabulary and was stationed in Chorley as a sergeant in the early 1990s.

He later served on drug squads, undercover and informant units, and the regional and national crime squads.

He spent 31 years working for the police around the country, before retiring in the rank of detective

inspector.

He has since written a crime thriller, By Their Rules, which was published last year by Pegasus Elliot MacKenzie Publishers Ltd.

Roger, who lives in Preston, does not write about his real-life experiences, but his fiction is inspired by them.

He is now giving a series of talks about his career, writing the book and its publication.

He will visit Euxton Library, on St Mary’s Gate, at 6pm on Monday, March 3,

It will be followed by a talk at Adlington Library, on Railway Road, at 6pm on Monday, April 7.

Signed copies of his books will be available at the talks.
