Chorley school has new owners
The Priory Group has added Oliver House School in Chorley to its portfolio of 21 specialist educational needs schools and colleges.
The company plans significant investment in the development and refurbishment of the school, which is situated overlooking Astley Park.
Oliver House School is a residential and day school for up to 40 boys and girls, aged six to 19, with moderate to severe autistic spectrum disorders and associated learning difficulties.
Children and young people are accommodated in houses located within the local community.
Priory Education Services is the country's leading independent provider of specialist education.
They care for children and young people age five upwards with special educational needs including autistic spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger's syndrome (AS), behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) and specific learning difficulties (SpLD) including dyslexia. Most of the students have a Statement of Special Educational Need and are funded by local authorities.
Helen Sharpe, managing director of Priory Education Services said: "Oliver House School fits perfectly with our existing portfolio of specialist schools and colleges.
"Our aim is to deliver the highest level of education and care based on the individual needs of each student.
"We are looking forward to working with both new and existing students and staff as well as developing both the education and residential provision."
