A fun day is being held across several parks to celebrate the reopening of the newly-restored Circular Walk.
The 10-mile trail has been improved in a £45,000 project funded by Lancashire Environmental Fund and secured by TCV, Chorley Council and Lancashire County Council.
Work started in November to resurface muddy paths, remove old boardwalks and install new drainage to make the route easier to use.
The route covers Astley Park, Chorley town centre, the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, Duxbury Woods, Yarrow Valley Country Park and Common Bank.
The walk will be officially opened at 11am on Saturday, May 24 at Yarrow Valley Country Park and will be followed by a day of activities at Astley Park, Yarrow Valley Country Park and Duxbury Woods.
There will be guided walks, children’s activities, face painting, a dog tricks show, birds of prey, children’s treasure hunt, climbing wall, craft workshops and more.
A programme of walks and entertainment will also be held during the year.
