Long-standing plans to build a new health centre in Chorley East could be a step closer to reality.
Plans to borrow £6.65m for the Friday Street project are in Chorley Council’s new budget.
Coun Peter Wilson, deputy leader, said: “The creation of a health centre in Chorley East is something that has been talked about for a long time and we know it’s something that will benefit residents in that area.
“We have been working very closely with Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and Chorley and South Ribble Clinical Commissioning Group, as well as local GP practices, to get things moving forward and we now have a high level commitment from everyone to work together and make it happen.
“It is important to stress that we are in the very early stages and we don’t want people to get their hopes up too much, but having the commitment from everyone is a really important step.”
