Little Boots calls off US gigs

BLACKPOOL'S very own pop star Little Boots has postponed the second part of her North American tour.

The 25-year-old Little Boots, aka former Blackpool Sixth Form College student Victoria Hesketh, was due to continue her trek in Atlanta, Georgia on April 22, but has mysteriously cancelled the dates due to "unforeseen circumstances".

She was scheduled to make stops in cities including Washington DC, Boston, Massachusetts and Montreal, Canada before finishing in Chicago, on May 1.

Her string of US gigs earlier this month earned rave reviews from Rolling Stone magazine and the Nylon Magazine, which said Little Boots was set to "re-invent pop one small dance step at a time."

A statement from the pint-sized pop princess said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances and commitments in the UK, Little Boots is postponing all US and Canadian tour dates after her April 18 Coachella performance.

"Massive apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

"Little Boots sends her sincere apologies to her fans and hopes to re-schedule in the future."

And the singer took to her page on the social networking website Twitter to apologise to fans in the US for the cancellations.

She wrote: "Really sorry everyone on the east coast about the shows, hope you all understand."

Fans can get refunds at the point of purchase.
